When director Dani de la Torre read a news article detailing how the Spanish coastal town of Marbella became the playing ground for hundreds of international criminal organizations, he knew he had a new show on his hands. His “La Unidad” producing partners agreed and thus became Movistar Plus+ original series “Marbella,” premiering in Spain on May 2, to large media impact.
During a preview of the show at the Berlinale Series Market de la Torre remarked how the underbelly of Marbella was “unknown” in Spain when he first read an in-depth investigation into the criminal activities in the Málaga province. “More than 132 different gangs call Marbella their home turf and have their headquarters there. This was a novelty I was immediately attracted to.”
“Every day, news stories are coming out about the Marbella gangs, but these organizations have so much money that it makes it very difficult for the police to properly fight against them.

Stampede Ventures’ adaptation of Isabell Ronin’s YA romance webnovel Chasing Red will shoot in Saudi Arabia, it was announced at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah on Saturday.
The production is one of two films, alongside thriller Fourth Wall, that will kick-off a previously announced three-year, 10-project pact between Greg Silverman’s West Hollywood-based Stampede Ventures and the Royal Commission for AlUla’s film agency.
The news follows hot on the heels of the announcement this week by Stampede Ventures that the Chasing Red adaptation was in the works, in partnership with Wattpad Webtoon Studios.
The romantic drama revolves around straight-a student Veronica and rich playboy Caleb, who are brought together by an unexpected series of events.

Billions, you better not toy with our emotions because there is only one acceptable outcome, and it doesn't look like we are on the same page about what that is.
We'd hate to see a series finale that makes us feel how we felt towards the end of this episode.
With that out of the way, we will discuss everything that went down on Billions Season 7 Episode 11, so if you're yet to get caught up, beware of spoilers.
The episode packed a lot of surprises, from Axe's new firm to Governor Dunlop's return and her final decision. Ironically, it was one of the shortest episodes of Billions ever, having a runtime of under fifty minutes.
It had the classic Billions feel, with the story not being told chronologically to maintain that element of surprise once plays were revealed and surprised we were.

Lucasfilm has confirmed that Donald Glover and his brother Stephen’s project based on the Star Wars character Lando Calrissian will be a film, not a television series, as previously reported.
The news came on Thursday via Variety, which received the confirmation from Lucasfilm. Earlier that day, Stephen — who was an executive producer on Atlanta — indicated that the project has pivoted to being a film while speaking on the podcast Pablo Torre Finds Out. “It’s not even a show… the idea right now is to do a movie,” Stephen explained.
Going further, Stephen clarified that, while making a movie is the goal, the project is in a limbo of sorts at the moment due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. “Right now, because of the strike, it’s kind of like telephone, all of the information,” he said.

“Lando,” the upcoming Disney+ series that will star Donald Glover reprising his role as Lando Calrissian from 2018’s “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” was recently revealed to be in development (after a soft announcement in 2020).

Torre was nicknamed “The Marble Faun” by Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale and her daughter Edith Bouvier Beale, better known as Big Edie and Little Edie and the aunt and cousin, respectively, of former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. As a teen, Torre appeared in their 1975 documentary, Grey Gardens.
The forthcoming film, also titled The Marble Faun of Grey Gardens, will tell the story of a gay teenage runaway from Brooklyn framing Big Edie and Little Edie as the misguided guardian angels in his life—and beyond.
Leo Geter (Longmire) is penning the script and will also produce; Drew Droege and Unger Media CEO Jonathan Unger will executive produce. Torre is also involved creatively.
